Mental vulnerability can begin in the fetal state
Compared to other countries, Denmark has a unique register information for all citizens. Now, an analysis of this wealth of information shows that mental illness can be rooted in the fetal state in the form of a mental vulnerability that can follow for the rest of life. Specific gene variants in the genome that are important for brain formation and development during the fetal stage may be the cause of serious mental disorders such as schizophrenia and ADHD.
