Is glass a liquid?
Why do liquids and other materials behave the way they do? One would think that scientists have long ago understood the physical properties of the materials that we surround ourselves with, but this is far from the case. In fact, it is difficult to predict even simple liquids from the structure of their molecules.
Professor Kristine Niss from Roskilde University talks (in Danish) to Science Journalist Jens Degett from Science Stories about how to research physical properties and structures in his own laboratory and with experiments on the largest and most expensive spallation source instruments in the world, where researchers work around the clock for to make the most of those precious seconds.
