Bacteria are the basis of life on Earth
Bacteria are probably not the very first life form on Earth, but they play an important role in all life forms and the Earth's metabolic cycle. In the program, we move from the origin of life to the present-day world where bacteria are important to all life forms.
But bacteria are also crucial to cleanliness, they can be affected by antibiotics, and may win a war by eating shit-packed bacteria, but only if it is healthy. In this podcast, Science journalist Jens Degett interviews bacterial researcher Peder Worning from the Clinical Microbiology Department, Hvidovre Hospital (in Danish).
